Before proceeding onto the application, please read the following information: Application Information Applications are being accepted from 3/1/08 to 3/12/08. You will be notified as to whether or not you are accepted by 3/16/08. The Bazaar Bizarre is a juried craft fair that selects vendors based on various elements such as: • Individuality • DIY-sensibility • Quality of work • Diversity of Products We have a guest panel of judges from diverse organizations and backgrounds to ensure a diverse and quality showcase of crafters and products. Traditionally we have received more vendor applications than there are vendor spaces. So the more information you provide in your application—the more we’ll be able to consider when making our decision. One vendor space may be shared amongst more than one crafter. Just be sure to give us information about all the crafters involved in one application. Where and When Is This Event? This is a two-day event being held the following weekend: Saturday May 3rd, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Sunday May 4th, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm This Bazaar Bizarre event is happening as a part of Make Magazine's Maker Faire 2008. The entire event takes place at the San Mateo Fairgrounds. Last year's Maker Faire drew over 40,000 attendees. Please see http://makerfaire.com/ for more program information This year the Bazaar Bizarre will be located in an indoor location. In the building the Bazaar Bizarre will be in there will be other craft-related exhibits and activities. More details about the event will be available to you if you are accepted as a vendor. Do I need a vendor's permit? You are responsible for holding or obtaining any necessary seller permits through the state of CA. You are also responsible for registering your small business with the IRS and collecting sales tax for the items you're selling. Please visit the State Board of Equalization for more information: http://www.boe.ca.gov/info/reg.htm How big is my booth? Each vendor will be supplied with one table and two chairs. The tables are approx 8-feet by 3-feet. What is the cost? The fee for a vendor slot is $110.00 for the entire weekend. How do I make payment? If you are accepted, payment is due by 03/30/08. If you are accepted into the event but you cannot attend, there are no refunds after you pay. Also if you do not pay by the due date you risk forfeiting their space. Payments will be accepted via PayPal. You are not permitted to sell or trade your space. We will have a waiting list and reserve the right to fill that vendor space based on our selection process.
