Somerville Arts Council has a really amazing program every summer, and I love that I get to be a part of it pretty much every weekend since Union has been my home for 7 years now. Organizing for Union Made, shopping at Boston Handmade, and now tabling at Printmania! Fellow Small Craft Advisor Marissa Falco and I will both have tables set up for workshops and activities all about how awesome printing is. Join the Printmania facebook event!
My table is all about STENCILS! I love all kinds of printing processes, and stenciling is one of the few near-instant gratification printmaking processes. At my table there will be a bunch of pre-cut stencils from my stencil library for people to try out printing, as well as a cutting station for you to try cutting out a stencil of your own. I will be hanging out and making and printing stencils. I’m excited to get people interested in stenciling and show some super cheap and easy ways to make pretty durable stencils. Oh, and this will most definitely be a table of FREE fun! Here are some stencils I cut and printed this spring, using the same techniques that I will be working with at Printmania.

Marissa’s table will be all about printing for communication and the loveliness of handwritten letters, or letters typed on awesome ye olde fashionedey typewriters! She even made a totally boss custom postcard for Somerville, and I hope she posts more about it this week.
And one last stencil, this one is a 3 color stencil printed on fabric, so bring tee if you want to stencil yourself a custom tshirt!
