We had an amazing day! Wedged between 2 insane downpouring thunder and lightening storms, Union Made had an absolutely beautiful sunny, breezy, summer Sunday. Just under 40 vendors filled the square with us, and everyone was looking really really good. Here are a few photos we got while walking around visiting, chatting and shopping, showing Toiluxe, Paper Taxi, Meerwibli, and Gather Here.

Check out more photos in our Union Made 2012 flickr pool, and if you took any pictures of vendors, the bands, or your shopping loot please share them with us! We posted a few on the BBB facebook as well, so vendors please tag yourselves and put your website if you have a chance before we get to it. Thank you so much for vending, as always we would be nothing without the awesome vendors who work hard all day everyday!
Speaking of bands, we brought back live music this year, and we think the slight change to acoustic made all the difference. Outdoor fairs still need a great soundtrack, but the challenges of getting power into the square were difficult to deal with. Acoustic sets by not-always-acoustic-bands was a perfect match! Lots of shoppers in the audience taking a break in the shady parts of the square on the benches to enjoy 5 great local bands – Marc Pinansky, Cargo Cult, Man Alive!, Lady Pilot, and Old Hat.

Thanks again to everyone who came out to kick off Union Made as the first of the Somerville Arts Council and the Mass Cultural Council’s program of events of summer 2012. We hope to have the pleasure of organizing again next year, and will be posting about the winter 2012 Bazaar Bizarre Boston ASAP!

It was lots of fun and the cookies were delicious! Thanks for a great time!
