You know on Cheers, when Norm walks into the bar and everyone is like “Hey Norm!” like he belongs there? Growing up in the 80s and watching vaguely age-inappropriate sitcoms, I always wondered if I would have a place like that, where I’d walk in and be greeted by friendly faces happy to see me. It took years in the Boston area to find it, but by now I know for sure that Gather Here is my Cheers.
From their website:
Gather here is a fabric, yarn, and fibers store offering classes, an inspirational work space, and knowledgeable instructors. We aim to provide a creative, fun, inspiring environment for the maker in everyone. We are Cambridge’s first stitch lounge with machines, supplies, tables and most importantly, space, for the maker to create.
The best part about Gather Here, though, is that it can be YOUR Cheers, too. Visit their table at Union Made and learn more about what their shop has to offer, from quality fabrics, yarns, and supplies to sewing lessons for crafters of all ages. Try your hand at the craft projects they’ll be debuting, and be inspired to go home and make something.
